John Valentine
I was first introduced to scythes by Ross when he was running ScythesNZ back in the day.
I was developing a permaculture property and I soon caught the bug as well.
Since then I have developed a passion for the Austrian scythe and use it for every mowing job on my property. The Scythe is also a key tool in my job as a sustainable/green gardener, and I am running the equipment sales side of things.
I will be focusing my support and training efforts on the North Island.

Ross Doyle
ScythesNZ all started 2009 when Ross's brushcutter broke down and he sought a more simple and cleaner alternative. He couldnt find what he wanted available in NZ so he started importing equipment. He has handed the sales side on to John so he can go tramping more.
Ross is focusing on support and workshops around the Tasman Bay and Golden bay areas in the Top of the South Island.

We run workshops in Summer when and where we can. Hopefully we will get to your neck of the woods soon if we haven't already.
We are setting up regional WhatsApp groups that are part of the Aotearoa Scythers Network WhatsApp Community, if you want to be part of that, message me, John Valentine +64273268890.
In the meantime we can give advice and tuition on any part of the mowing or scythe maintenance operation via email or over the phone, you can find regional contact details above.
Happy mowing.
